Showers & Blessings
of Santa Maria

Did you know our Showers and Blessings of Santa Maria Valley Ministry has transitioned to a mobile shower system. We no longer provide services within individual facilities.  We are we are now mobile throughout the community. Able to go where we can do the most service for those in need with this mobile unit.  We currently support 5 different locations throughout the week where, along with supporting partners, perform meal services, haircuts, and so much more! If you would like to be a volunteer to work with the shower teams, please contact Linda Black through our “Contact” Tab under contact name of “Director of Outreach” .

WHAT IS SHOWERS & BLESSINGS of Santa Maria?

Are you aware there is a ministry here in town providing showers and haircuts to the homeless and poor of our community?  Yes, this was the innovation of Crestwood.  It is called Showers of Blessing.

It started August 12, 2012, by the collaborative efforts of Crestwood Christian Fellowship and First United Methodist Church providing the volunteer backbone, the hospitality foods, hair salon, limited undergarment distribution, toiletries, and even seasonal items.

Today we have periodic donations from other church collections, businesses, individuals, and agencies. These donations, whether goods or funds, are a boost to our ability to provide more of the basic needs when our guests come to shower but we still need a lot more help.   Join with us and make a difference in the lives of these people working on improving their lives.

Would your company, service club, family or neighborhood want to help out?  Consider these fun ways to get involved:

✓ Collection – T shirts, Underwear or Socks for men and women

✓ Hospitality – Bake or buy breakfast goodies for a day or a month (approximately 50 persons)

✓ Collection – Toiletries: Personal size of shampoos, conditioners, soap

✓ Collection for Specialty Items – Hairbrushes/Combs, Deodorant, Toothbrushes, or Toothpaste

✓ Resources – Invite your resource group to come and provide information on their services

✓ Prayer/Consoling – Come to be a prayer warrior volunteer with the Guests
