Why Jesus?

Crestwood Christian Fellowship

A Statement of Faith

Since the beginning of time, mankind has searched for something to believe in. Something to place all hope in. Something to believe will make life better.

Here at Crestwood our faith – the object of our beliefs – the object of our worship – is not an imaginary object or something we have conjured up  – but a real Person, Who really lived who is Jesus Christ.

We firmly believe that Jesus is the Son of God who came into this world to not only show us the nature and character of God – but also to take on Himself the punishment for the sins of every person (and we all sin) when He allowed Himself to be crucified. And through our faith, belief, and trust in Him, we will one day live with Him in a place called heaven, for eternity.

We firmly believe that when we place our faith in Jesus and are baptized, we receive complete forgiveness for all of our sins – past – present – and future – and we become part of His family – what Jesus calls His church. This means we are brothers and sisters and are called to love, protect, and care for each other. Church is not something we do, it is who we are.

We firmly believe that as dedicated followers of Jesus it is our privilege and responsibility to carry on His mission by spreading His love and offer of peace with God and forgiveness, and for caring for the poor around us, no matter who they are, just as He did.

Why Jesus? Simple. He proved Who He really is by showing us the power of God through miracles, even raising people from the dead. He proved Who He really is by fulfilling over 300 prophecies written over thousands of years by several different people that all pointed to Him. And to top it off, He raised Himself from the dead. Who else could He be?

We firmly believe that Jesus did this for us out of love, and He is the only way anyone can be with God, and live eternally in heaven with God.

We firmly believe that He will return to earth just as He said – soon.

Our faith rests on more than history books and tradition passed down to us. We believe that God has used a message system to communicate to us, a book we call The Bible.

We firmly believe that The Bible has come to us from God – that every Word in it is from God Himself. Therefore we place our teaching from the Bible – all of it.

At Crestwood, we believe you will find a refreshing blend of real love, real truth in teaching what God has said, and a place where you can do the real work of Jesus by caring for others.

That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other.” – Isaiah 45:6
